RF Online, originally named 'Rising Force' is a 3D MMORPG developed by CCR.
The first version of the game was released in South Korea and was later
followed by Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Indonesia, Portuguese and English
translations.
At the start of the game, a character will be
led through an in-game guide of the basic commands for the game. From there,
the character will be exposed to a series of quests which will familiarize
him/her with their character's headquarters. As the character progresses in
level, his/her quests may take them out to aggressive maps, where he/she will
be exposed to the player killing Features of the game. One quest given in the
Sette Desert on low levels makes players aware of constant presence and danger
of enemy races.
The Races
1) The Bellatians
The
Bellato Union utilise machines and some magic in their culture. Renowned for
their great mechanical minds, intelligence and hand-eye coordination, the
Bellato can construct huge armoured battle mechs and weapons to use in the war.
Though they are physically strong and intelligent, the huge gravitational
energies from their home planet have left the Bellato with smaller builds. The
Bellato are experienced traders and their financial minds and greed have driven
the need to extend out to other planets, to colonize and claim resource. To
expand to the rest of the universe, the Bellato have to ensure that the Novus
Sector doesn't fall under the supremacy of the Accretia or Cora. This desire to
expand and grow will no doubt leave the galaxy engulfed in turmoil and
chaos."
2) The Accretians
“The Accretian Empire follows a totalitarian
regime where goals are for the Empire, a thought that is embraced by its
followers. There is no feeling when it comes to the destruction of other races
and for good reason, for the Accretia are a race of mechanised units with a
materialistic thinking. The Accretia are proud to be the strongest and most
formidable race in the galaxy, and are proud of the huge weapons they have
created to kill men, women and all things living. Their need to expand to the
further reaches of the universe to become even stronger is paramount and a key
driving force to their being. This has inevitably led them to the Planet Novus
and the arcane civilisations it plays home to."
3) The Corites
“The Holy Alliance Cora is a spiritual
civilisation with a firm belief in religion and the magical arts. Though the
history of the Cora has been built on religious wars, which has created
multiple states and nations, the country is strongly unified through its core
religious beliefs. The Cora people, united as the Holy Alliance, now battle for
their survival using the magical powers drawn from their spiritual beliefs, and
traditional weapons blessed by their god, Disem."
The Classes
The game starts you off with the choice of
several "base" classes such as warrior, ranger, spiritualist, or specialist.
Each has their own unique abilities and stats (to an extent). Your base class
is the most important part of your character as it will decide what
class-specific skills you will be able to learn later on in the game.
At level 30,
you will be able to advance into your second class and gain new abilities. You
must proceed to your Race Manager and select "Class Promotion" from
the options. Here you will have all options available to you, in other words, a
warrior can advance into any class a ranger, spiritualist, or specialist can,
and vice versa. However, there are strings attached. Although you can freely
advance into any class of your choice, only the class(es) which connect to your
“base” class will reward you with “class-specific” skills. These skills play an
important role in the game so it would be wise to choose your class carefully.
At level 40,
you will be able to advance into your third class and gain new abilities. This
is similar to the level 30 class promotion, except your options of classes are
severely limited. Your level 40 class options are determined by the class you
selected at level 30. For more on which level 40 classes will be available to
which level 30 classes, see the race-specific class guides.
As both
class advances, you will receive bonus PT in the areas of your selected class
and an item associated with your selected class. This varies for all the
different classes, and some receive more than others.
